Please how can i MANUALLY open up my drop top? on 1999 Mercedes-Benz SLK230

The control to drop the roof flashes but the roof doesn't open. I want to manually open this up and try retrace where the problem lies.

there is no easy way for the consumer to manually open the top. you will need MB software to diagnose whether this is a "control" issue (switch, module, etc) or if it is "mechanical." the major issue on this car is loss of fluid from a leaking cylinder or the pump itself. the top will not function if the pump is low on fluid and must be refilled to operate the top. suggest a good local MB shop, as this is not a do-it-yourself job.

Typically if the control to open and close the convertible top is flashing; you are not satisfying your trunk switch (which is controlled by the pull screen in your trunk, the switch is located on the passenger side towards the front of your trunk) Depending on your comfort and skill level, there is a lot of information out there to fix your convertible top and companies that will rebuild your hydraulic cylinders if they are leaking. I have replaced and rebuilt 3 of the 5 cylinders and my top opens and closes flawlessly.
