ever since i bought this 2006 bmw 650i, at first the passenger side airbag malfunction light comes on and off, but now it's at a steady on light which is very annoying. BMW claims my year and vin isn't part of their recall which i think is bs. I fondled with the sensor on the bottom but it still comes on and off. please help.

You need to have the codes retrieved (unfortunately a scan tool is needed to retrieve the codes) once you have the code or codes stored then you can follow test and repair procedures to repair the problem. Once you have the codes, Autozone have some popular workshop manuals for free on line once you register (for free) on their website http://bit.ly/autozone_repair_info or there is a company that independent auto repair shops "buy" their information from that offer a very reasonable service to do it yourselvers. You can get a one week subscription or year subscription very cheap. The information is year make and model specific repair procedures, service bulletins, component locations, wiring diagrams ect.... great quality information same as the professionals have ,much better than generic workshop manuals from parts stores, much cheaper than the factory manual try http://bit.ly/mitchell_repair_manuals_online and get an online repair manual subscription.

When I check the recall info it does not specify VIN range, only manufacturing date: E63, E64 (6 Series) vehicles produced up to 11/2005 Could you tell us the mfg. date, or the last 7 digit of the VIN? Are you out of the regular warranty? How many miles are in the car? If your local dealership won't help you to resolve this problem, contact to BMW of North America and file a complaint, they are the real authority in NA and can make decision in your favor. Zee
