Question: passenger door wont open

passenger door will lock and unlock but not open. i took panel off but cant get into any thing with the air bag in the way.what are the steps i should take from here.. please help me

    Disconnect the NEGATIVE battery cable, wait about 15 minutes than remove the side air bag. If I remember correctly there are 3 bolts holding it to the door.
