Question: Passenger Airbag Sensor

Question

My passenger airbag sensor has gone bad, doing exactly what recall states, but BMW says that my VIN is not included in recall. Have filed complaint with NHTSB but need to pass safety inspection in the meantime. I have heard about being able to bypass this sensor allowing both airbags to deploy if in accident and turn off airbag warning light. Any direction/instructions, I cannot find anything other than recall info.

I have the same exact problem with my 06 BMW x3....I have filed complaints with the NHTSB , BBB, and the state attorney general. .....AND BMW wants over $1000 to repair it.....THIS IS BS....I will never buy a BMW again...They seem to go bad right around 55K to 60K

the more people that file with the NHTSB the better.

update....The attorney general did nothing....the NHTSB did nothing....BUT the BBB was able to get BMW to make good on the the repair. So if you have the same problem....make sure you write to the BBB... it saved me about a $1000 dollars.

BMW has no interest in fixing this problem which is wide spread....so you need to be a PR--K with these guys.....THANK YOU BBB...You really came through for the little guy.

Hi....You need to file a complaint with the BBB. The NHTSB and attorney general will do nothing for you. I finally got BMW to fix the repair for free....thanks to the BBB.

It saved me a boat load of money.
