I'm installing new shoes...having fits - biggest spring is very difficult to install as are retaining clips - not sure if I'm catching the cable either and not sure how to adjust - any suggestions? Are there any tricks that seem to work especially well? Are there any special tools to use in this process?

There are special tools for this kind of work,especially to deal with the very tough springs. Do you have drum brake tools? If not, it can be really, really tough to do.
