1997 Nissan Sentra Question: P1336 DTC

Question

Visitor, Elgin, OK, April 01, 2010, 15:14

I was driving and check engine light came on, hooked up the scanner and it gave me 3 codes P0335 crankshaft position sensor "A" - circuit malfunction; P1336 Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKPS) (REF) (COG) and P1336 P/D. Checked resistance in the sensor that was good, checked ground on pin #2 that was good, Checked for 5 ref volts as per haynes manual 5 volts not present. Is there supposed to be 5 volts and if so what could be causing it not to receive 5 volts?

if you did not have a ref voltage, the car would not run. i seen this code before and the crank sensor was the culprit.
