Problem Description and Possible Solution
The Check Engine Light may erroneously illuminate, signifying a fault with the front oxygen sensor when no fault exists. Replacing the electrical connections at the oxygen sensor with a repair kit available from Kia will commonly fix this problem.

2003 Kia Rio....has now had the front O2 Sensor changed 4 times (Bosch brand versus manufacturer original part) and the back O2 Sensor once. It checks out fine then within days, always while driving on the highway, it indicates again. it is NOT fixed and I need advice
I can drive about 30 minutes and shut off the car. When it is restarted after sitting a few minutes or more, the check engine light will come on. The code reader says O2 sensor heater circuit, bank 1 sensor 1.
Check engine light came on, KIA dealership said it was my O2 sensor, I had them replace it, within 3 days it was on again, they tried another one and it is still on
Check engine light is on. I bought a OBD2 tool to get the code and it is P2237, 02 Sensor Positive Current Control Circuit / Open Bank1 Sensor1.
Can anybody tell me what that means.
Our check engine light is on, we replaced both o2 sensors and also the catalytic converter and now the check engine light is on again throwing the code that the upstream o2 sensor is bad. and they were both just replaced 2 years ago!!!!
I bought this used at 55,000. Check engine light goes on and off. Sometimes days with no light. Other days it stays on maybe for a day.
check engine light on and off
will not pass smog because of this problem
My check engine light goes on and off all of the time. It as well was tested to be the Oxygen Sensor. I've had the issue before and Kia replace some emissions valve in the gas tank stating I had over fueled my vehicle and flooded it. Unfortunately for them, I have never over fueled my car in my 10 years as the only owner of the vehicle. I'm rely surprised this car has only had 2 recalls with all of the issues I have had with it.
Check Engine Light. Code states O2 Sensors. Replace Both Sensors Reset Light. Check Engine came back on.
I paid to have it turned off and it came back on the next day.
Dealer replaced electric connections twice prior to warranty experation. Light comes back on every 5 to 7500 miles. It's on at 74000 and I may have to change the oxygen sensor.
Check engine light came on then cleared; code P0030 comes up Heated Oxygen Sensor Heater Control Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 1
My Kia spectra won't turn off even I change sessor
code for no power at bank 1 sensor 1 02 sensor. not fixed yet.
O2 sensor error comes up on diagnostic computer..
Ive heard that it is probably not an O2 problem but the wire connection is bad at the sendor
Engine light on after moving cables around that connect around the Electronic fuel ignition system. Origonal fault is with intermittently no petrol getting through and car stalling in traffic or not starting. There is a solenoid sitting on top of the air/fuel intake which buzzes when knocked and then allows fuel through. Suspect faulty solenoid or electrical connection.
Check engine light code shows o2 sensor issue. I haven't changed it since I do not drive the vehicle but i will let the vehicle run for about an hour to keep the battery charged. The check engine light went off now. My suspicions are the wires.
The check engine light goes on and off and various times
Check engine light came on for upper O2 Senor.
Replaced downstream o2 sensor based on engine diagnostics. Engine light resumed with same out of range code indicating connector/wiring harness failure. Will have to secure repair kit from Kia or get a connector from alternate source and splice wires.
