Question: Overheating situation

Question

Visitor, Hastings On Hudson, NY, June 22, 2010, 13:05

My car recently overheated, I brought it to a local service station and they tried telling me it was the waterpump and thermostat. I replaced this parts a few years back and didn't think I needed them again. I saw that the bleeder valve had steam coming out of it and went on-line to find out about other people with this problem. I tighten the current bleeder valve and filled the radiator up with BMW antifreeze. The car is not running hot any longer, it is fine. Could the $3.00 bleeder valve be the simple answer to my car overheating?

the cooling system has to be under pressure to keep from overheating and that $3 part was releasing pressure and coolant, Just keep an eye out but sounds like you fixed it
