1997 Ford Taurus Question: Overheating issue in town but not on Highway

, 3.0L V6 DOHC, Newport, WA, July 16, 2009, 15:46

Someone is wanting to trade me my 4x4 for thier Taurus... They say it overheats in town but not on highway. I would like to know if this is something that may end up costing us a lot to fix... I had a Taurus wagon that did the same thing...

I would not go near this car. if the car over heats in town, it could be so many things, like a bad cooling fan, bad radiator etc. It may have already over heated to the point where the head gaskets are strained. Head gaskets on this motor are EXPENSIVE!

    Good Luck!
