Question: Overheating

I have had a continual overheating problem, to the point I have "at least" a head gasket problem to fix. But I still need the mechanic to find the overheating problem. I've replaced the radiator, water pump, 2 thermostats, and bled for air pockets. The only thing we think left is the engine fan. Is it normal to be able to stop the fan from rotating with just putting your finder between the blades? Any other ideas?

Thanks for help

No, you also have a bad fan clutch.

i have the exact same problem. i talked to a BMW tech online and he said its the head gasket. its an expensive job so I'm looking into the liquid sealants to see if that works. first i will try k and w sealant. good luck to you, this is so frustrating/////

You will regret using anything other than BLUE DEVIL. It works if you follow directions exactly.

YOU CAN CHECK THE FAN CLUTCH. I HAD TO REPLACE MINE. IT'S A RELATIVELY SIMPLE JOB AND THE PART WAS NOT TOO EXPENSIVE. CHECK TO SEE IF YOUR FAN IS ABLE TO SPIN FREELY. IF IT LOCKS THEN YOU WILL KNOW THAT IT IS BAD.
