i have a 2000 kia sephia. after we drive about 45 miles the overdrive light statrs flashing. we can pull over disconnect the battery cable and it does not flash. we go another 45 miles and it does it again. any suggestions?

You have a fault code issue in your Transmission. The Battery disconnect only clears the code for awhile until the computer sees the problem again and sets the Over Drive Light.

I love all these answer to questions talking about fault codes and diagnosis time....this site is to help people so they can fix the problem and avoid shops. Anyway, if the overdrive light is coming on and flashing but the car still drives and will get to 3rd gear then there is an issue with your overdrive gear. You will most likely need to bring it to a transmission shop. Unless you know stuff about transmissions.
