how do I replace my dash lights? I'm pretty handy and mechanical but I'd like some direction here. Do I need to pull the dash?

There is no access to be gained to the bulbs by just removing the lower dash panel like there was on older cars. Toyota's instructions start with disable airbag, remove steering wheel, remove steering wheel cowling, remove turn signal/wiper switch. The genuine Toyota workshop manual doesn't even show clearly how to remove the finish panel in front of the instrument cluster. There are the two philips screws facing upwards at the top of the trim panel. The trim panel is secured with push in clips which are released by gently prying the panel outward. Its hard to describe how or wear to pry on the trim panel and it is easy to break or damage the panel. The labor time give to complete the job is 1 hour which sounds a little optimistic.
I did a Google search to see if anyone had posted any thing useful but to no avail.
