We had a slight drip from the engine area. The dealer suggested trying to seal the crack with silicone; I wanted it done right but he insisted on trying to save us money. When we got the truck home it leaked more than before. What now?

Do you mean the steering gear housing, the gearbox/transmission housing or engine has a leak. Housings only crack from accident induced damage or stress or internal failure forcing gears or something against the inside of the case.Ask them what exactly is cracked and what is the correct way to permanently repair the leak.

Thank you very much. I had no idea there were so many different parts that might have the same damage. I'll ask them to be more specific.
