2002 Chrysler Sebring Question: oil warning light on at low idle

Question

Visitor, 2.7L V6, Needham, MA, February 27, 2010, 15:13

My oil warning light has begun to glow after the car is fully warmed up (15 minutes driving) and the car is idling (typically, stopped at a traffic light.) As soon as I accelerate, the light goes off.
Is there a TSB for this problem?

Your problem is the oil pressure switch. There isn't one made that will last very long after you replace the original. Mine lasted about 100,000 miles and had to be replaced and since then I've had 4 more in another 100,000 miles and it's flashing me again. I'm trying to figure out where it;s located so I can replace it myself.
Hope that helped. It's like everything else on this engine, I guess!! Mine's only lasted as long as it has because of my religious use of top quality oil and changing oil and filter at 3,000 mile intervals.

It's probably the oil sending unit ($100-150 to replace)
