Oil pump on 2003 Chevrolet Venture

Need info on how to pull the oil pan down and replace the oil pump. Where is the oil pump located? Is it in the pan as I have heard it may be external.

Don't even try to do this yourself. You haven't even told me which engine you have. Both engines are different and unconventional and require a GM expert mechanic to do this kind of work. I looked up the procedure on both engines and I don't recommend it to anyone who's not familiar with the designs. Find a GM specialist to give you an estimate, and if you're on the phone, find out which engine you have first before calling. Here's a directory link for you: http://repairpal.com/directory?address=87533&car_brand_names=Chevrolet
