Question: Oil pump

Need info on how to pull the oil pan down and replace the oil pump. Where is the oil pump located? Is it in the pan as I have heard it may be external.

    Don't even try to do this yourself. You haven't even told me which engine you have. Both engines are different and unconventional and require a GM expert mechanic to do this kind of work. I looked up the procedure on both engines and I don't recommend it to anyone who's not familiar with the designs. Find a GM specialist to give you an estimate, and if you're on the phone, find out which engine you have first before calling.

    Thank you for the info. I did get a book and what a night mare. will be putting it back together and will listen to it tick until it dies. Thanks for the info again it is greatly appreciated. Oh yeah the engine is 3400SFI!
