I had my engine rebuilt in April 2009 and recently when I start to drive for several miles, say 30 to 50 highway, my oil gauge shows that it is low on oil and you can hear the lifters. But I will stop and check the oil, which I also do before I leave the house since this has started, and it shows to be full. I have regular oil changes and I am about at my wits end. Can you please advise me on what I need to check or change? Thanks

hopefully you have warranty. it sounds like your pump may be failing. get it checked before other damage is done.

I suggest the Oil Pressure Sensor. It could be a faulty sensor

HI i recently purchased a 97 hombre with 2.2 4cyl. and i am having the same issue, pressure is fine until the engine comes up to temp, and then it goes to 0 when at idle, but is fine at speed. Lifters are noisy when engine is at running temp. I parked it today and do not plan to drive it until i am able to fix it. the only issue i have, is that i have no idea where these parts are on/in the engine. Would you be able to tell me where on/in the engine the pressure switch is, and where the oil pressure pump is located as well.
