Oil plug on 1992 Ford Escort

Well im doing a oil change on my gf car and i cant find the oil drain plug.. Also what would cause the engine to over heat and loose all power to the accessories?

The drain plug is on the oil pan. I can't think of a better way to explain it. The oil pan extends from the bottom of the engine block, then the drain plug is threaded into it. Have you checked to see if your serpentine belt has broken? If so, you would lose steering, charging and water pump function.
