Question: Oil pan gasket replacement/reseal

Question

Visitor, 3.0L V6, Boise, ID, April 23, 2011, 06:12

The estimates for the oil pan gasket reseal/replacement are too low. I have been pricing this at many places in Boise, and the range has been $315-$445. Most are closer to $400.

Estimates in my area South Carolina, are $224.00 to $336.00 for this job. The oil pan is pretty easy to remove on this car. However as you may or may not know the estimates on this site are a average, cost of independent and dealership prices in your area. based on shops that join or report to this site there labor rates. Larger areas and more remote areas may be charging more because that area has higher income levels. It's not right but happens I would shop around a little more. I think you were making a statment more then asking a question. Good Luck!!!
