what is estimate for oil pan gasket part and replacement, extended cab not four wheel drive

    The oil pan removal takes twice as long on a 2wd as it does on a 4wd S10 pickup. The oil pan gasket replacement should run from $1200 - $1500.

    just bought this 1994 Ford Taurus 2 mo.ago....155K mi., now they say oil pan cracked,bad gasket & may need exhaust work, ie catalytic conv.,tranny pan. Is this due to age or misuse ??

    kahacars, There is no way to tell if your problems are from normal wear and tear without actually looking at your vehicle. However, a "cracked" oil pans does seem a bit suspicious. If the transmission pan is similarly damaged at least some of your problems could be due to misuse.
