I "HAD" this problem. These Saab 9-7X s burn oil. ..about 1- 1-1/2 quart every 3500 miles. Always have always will.
The light came on within a month of my used car purchase at 84,000. It went from normal pressure to the 0 pressure .. Stop engine emergency alert.
It had plenty of oil.
I took it to the Saab dealer since the GM dealer refused to service it even though its basically a Trail Blazer.
The dealer duscovered a lot of gunk blocking the oil sensor most likely due to not getting the oil changed regularly and getting low on oil. They did a flush to clean out the gunk and changed the oil.
Flushing the oil system loosens the gunk to clean it out but it doesnt always get all of f it.
The light and alert returned a few months later.
I had another flush and oil changed at a local garage.
The light and alert returned AGAIN.
Took it back to the local garage. More gunk on the sensor.
I had another flush done along with another oil change and just to be certain I had the oil sensor replaced.
Now, 3 1/2 years later I have 116,000 miles on the Saab and the problem has never returned.
The light comes on when I start the car in the morning. Sometimes it goes out by itself and other times I stop/turn off the car so it can go out. Why is this happening?
Happened once, got oil pressure sensor fixed. Here two weeks later, I'm on the side of the road, same issue but way worse . Car won't start again once I turned it off
oil sensor
oil pressure light comes on and oil gage goes to no pressure.
