I just noticed that the "wrench" light went on and it say (15%) oil use, or something like that.
What does this mean, how many more miles can I drive it (safely) and does it mean I need more oil or an oil change. I only have 4,200 miles.
I am not sure if I have synthetic oil or regular oil, is it ok (safe) to mix it, because I do not remember.
thanx

every 5000 miles the light will come out as a reminder to change your oil, is better not to mix the oils they are not made to be mix always use the grade of oil recommended by honda

Your Honda has a "Maintenance Minder" system that monitors various inputs from the vehicle and then determines when it needs to be serviced, and the service needed. At 15% the wrench light illuminates and you will see a code on the dash starting with an A or B and then a number or series of numbers telling you what needs to be done (your Civic uses numbers 1 through 5). If you follow the encyclopedia link on the Repairpal site it will tell you what the letters and numbers mean and what service needs to be done. The Maintenance Minder will count down from 15% and as I recall it should start blinking at 5%. Once you reach 0% the mileage on the Maintenance Minder will show in negative numbers. Your Honda comes from the factory with standard 5/20 oil. I know customers that prefer synthetic oil and use it in their Honda's and that's a choice you can make when you change the oil.
