525i 2003 BMW has had oil leaks for the past few years - I've gotten them fixed only to have them reappear again. Was recently in an accident - rear ended by another driver and the most recent repair has now reappeared. Frustrating to know that such a minor thing can just keep happening. Oil burns in the engine and I HAVE to drive with the window open or else I'm sure I'd be inhaling oil fumes and possibly be overcome. Wish there was a solid fix to this issue.
This is just one of many problems had with this car after 4 months from purchase. I did the research on them and thought was buying one in good condition but it has spent more time in shop than road and very costly. I'm hoping in the long run I will have it long enough to off set some of the cost. They are a dream to drive but I must be one in a few who have major problems that takes away the fun after spending over 3k already and still waiting for something else to go wrong. I sold my 2004 Impala that I had for 3yrs and no problems to buy this and it's been a nightmare. We had 3 BMW's before and I swore I'd never own another one so I got what I asked for because I missed driving them.
Burning oil smell smoke coming in air vents in the doors and BMW dealers paid to fix it but I'm still having problem just not as bad I'm furious also having a jumpy idol mainly when a runs will cut off paid over 200$ to look for vacuum leak for them to tell me they could not find it nor do they know why it does it it has to be the way I drive (why bc I'm a woman and it's a manual trans) or does that just make it better than just saying your cars messing up and we specialize in this car and don't know how to fix it 200$ please???????!!!!!!!
