BMW 528i Oil Leaks From Engine Area
BMW 528i Problem
Average Mileage: 166,159 mi (100,000 mi - 251,000 mi)
There are a number of oil seals on the car that fail. The rubber used in them turns to stone over time and leaks.
If you oil from the upper half of the engine, the valve cover gaskets are usually to blame. If you have oil in the spark plug holes, that's the valve cover gaskets around the spark plugs... If someone says you have an oil pan gasket leak on the 6cyl model, it's more likely the oil filter housing gasket - google it.
valve cover gasket needed replaced due to leaking oil.

Not had it fixed - mechanic suggested to wait - not yet dripping on driveway - just burning smell - doesn't use much oil at all yet - just a drip that smells.
