2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Question: Oil leaking in to intake and radiator...

 

Question

monte carlo 2000, 3.8L V6, Kaneohe, HI, October 02, 2012, 23:17
 Rookie

I own a 2000 Monte carlo SS it has 50,000.miles on it.
is this a common problem with oil leaking into the radiator and intake . I have found there is oil in the radiator also hose's are gummy coming from engine.
And is this a easy fix if you where to do it youself?

    TRANS. COOLER DEFECTIVE IN RADIATOR. WHY DO YOU SAY OIL IN INTAKE? SMOKING FROM EXHAUST? ANY COOLANT IN ENGINE OIL?

    i check the oil dip stick and oil is not milky. I look into other online forums and there's guys online saying that oil could be leaking on the lower intake gasket causing the oil to leak into the cooling jackets in the intake valleys...

    this mix can be servral things poss oil trans cooler leak or oil cooler if equip or leaking intake manifold. seek a diag and est

    i changed oil a few months a go and noticed a oil leak coming from the back of the block i thought it was valve cover gasket. i have taken the car to a shop and they said there is oil getting into cooling system, and its not comimg form oil cooler or trans cooler.i have bought a new radiator and gasket kit
    i will be removing the intake to see if there is a leak, and flushing the cooling system out
