Question: oil leak from the back of the block dripping on the exhaust

I have an oil leak dripping down onto my exhaust on the back of the block. Not sure where it is coming from. It looks like it's right above the exhaust flange. Real short on funds and experience...

    sounds like your oil pan gasket or valve cover gasket need to be replaced. you will have to take it to a shop or if you have a friend who know what hes doing with the right tools can do it for you.

    getting ready to take it to a friends house now. thanks for your response. much appreciated. priced an ASE certified mechanic, and he said it would take about 8 hours and he is charging about $30 an hour plus parts. good price, but still out of my price range.
