Question: oil leak engine

 Rookie

oil leaking from rear part of engine by the oil pan and the transmission flat cover plate. could this be bad rear main seal? if so how do i replace this?

  best thing to do is get a dye to add to the oil and use an ultraviolet light to determine the leak location. it could be the rear main. if it is, the transmission has to come out to gain access to the seal.

  get it checked first then move forward.
