Replacing the valve cover gasket is a straight forward job. First place oil drain pans under your engine and spray on a commercially available engine degreaser like Gunk or Castrol Super Clean that should be available at any local parts store. Follow the instructions allow the chemical to settle before washing off completely with a hose. Avoid excess contact of water between ignition components and alternator. Dispose of the waste properly afterward. Replace the valve cover gasket and check that the PCV valve is functioning correctly. A sticking PCV valve can contribute to oil leaks. You may find more information at http://www.autozone.com/N,9016851/initialAction,repairGuide/shopping/vehicleSelect4.htm on how to replace the Valve cover gasket.
