2001 BMW 530i Q&A

2001 BMW 530i Question: Oil leak

i have an oil leak and cant seem to find it . i changed the valve cover gasket and still hane a leak. i thought it was the oil pan gasket but its not . the leak seems to be higher up on the motor. any idea's??? -

I just had the same problem on my 330i and 528it. In both cases it was the gasket between the oil filter unit and the engine.The gasket is 6 to 8 dollars at the dealer. Remove 8 bolts after removing the alternator and belt. Good Luck. Bill -
