2004 GMC Yukon

Question: Oil gauge moves all the way to the right.

My oil gauge has moved all the way to the right after I took a short trip. The total trip took about 3 hours. This has happened twice. Any idea why this has happened.

    You may have a fault with the oil pressure sensor. The best way to confirm this is with a scan tool which will allow you to look at the data supplied to the instrument panel gauges cluster. If the reading from the sensor to the cluster is incorrect chances are that the sensor is at fault. If the readings are correct then the gauge itself could be at fault.
