1996 Mercury Cougar Question: Oil Filter Adapter Gasket & Lower Ball Joint Repair Cost Estimate

Question

The dealer has recommended 3 repairs for my 1996 Mercury Cougar: Cluster Bulb replacement; Oil Filter Adapter Gasket replacement, and Lower Ball Joint replacement. He has quoted me a price of over $650. Is this a fair estimate for all the repairs? Can you give me an estimate for labor costs for each repair?

I would suggest about an hour labor for each the cluster bulbs and oil filter adapter gasket.

The ball joint is probably an hour to an hour and a half. If you figured about 3-4 hours for the whole deal plus some parts, the estimate does not seem that far off.
