How do i take the sheild down to change the oil oand where exactly is the oil filter?

    Did you ever figure out how to remove the shield?

    The oil filter is under the car, there is a rubber access panel for it. If you don't have access to a lift you won't be able to get to it.

    You will need a 8mm socket and a philips screwdriver to remove the two pans underneath the front portion of the 545i. The filter is close to the drain plug.
