Not firing on 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier

What would make no fire go to the sparkplugs, and fuel pump not work?

Are you sure the fuel pump is not working? How did you test it? One of the only things common the each of these items is the Powertrain Control Module and that is not a common failure item. Make sure you are using a fuel pressure gauge to test fuel pressure and a valid spark tester to check for spark.
