Question: No Voltage to Distributor

 Rookie

I have a 1987 Nissan D21 with a z24 engine that will not start. I have no fire at the plugs. Have battery voltage at coils. I have one wire one the distributor. There is no power to this wire with key on. I also checked for voltage here during cranking. I need to know how much voltage should be here , when it should be here and exactly where it comes from.

    Were you able to find out why the ignition wasn't firing? Does this have points?

    i had the same problem in my truck turn out to be the rotor inside the distribuitor.. i replace the rotor and the distribuitor cap. problem was fixed
