No start to to failed distributor on Mitsubishi Mirage

Car won't start.. it keeps trying to start
It was fine the night before went to star it in the morning and it crnks but will not strt wht cn it be?
After I drove it the gas was on empty
I toke it to half way pervious owner suggested I use premium I put regular
Drove it bout a solid mile
Parked it woke up next morning for school
It crank I thought let it idle it was very hesitant it fault few seconds an then killed never restarted
