had hard starting problem. now it wont start. applying power to test terminal for a couple seconds powers up fuel pump, then car will start. sometimes idle speed is erratic. does the same with spare PCM. no codes. ignition functions fine. that was all replaced about a year ago.

1996 Chevrolet Impala SS Question: no power to fuel system after car sits

you need a shop with electrical expierence that can track down the issue. it could be high resistance at the fuel pump connector which is common or the pump could be bad.

i think you may be right. i just replaced the fuel pressure regulator and relay. not much difference. fuel filter was replaced a couple years ago. i only get 25 lbs fuel pressure give or take a few. it varies as low as 20 and as high as 28 idling. should be just over 40. i will go after the electrical connection but i suspect the fuel pump is tired too.
