Airbags use a chemical reaction contained in an inflator module to create the pressure necessary to inflate the bags when deployment is required. These vehicles are being recalled because the front passenger airbag inflator may produce excessive internal pressure when deployed. Nissan dealers will check and correct the installation of the transmission lever gear selector plate lock clip to correct this concern.
During the manufacturing process, some fuel tank assemblies were not sealed correctly. As a result, a small amount of fuel can leak when the tank is full. Fuel leaks increases the risk of a fire so Nissan dealers will replace the affected fuel tanks to correct this concern.
These vehicles may have been assembled with transverse link bolts and power steering rack bolts that were not torqued to proper specification. The affected bolts could become loose and fall out, which may lead to a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will tighten the bolts to the proper torque specifications to correct this concern.
Certain vehicles may have been equipped with front wheel hubs that may not meet the design hardness specifications. A wheel hub that was manufactured below hardness specification may wear prematurely and eventually crack. If the vehicle is driven in this condition, the wheel hub may break, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash. Dealers will replace the left and right side front wheel hub assemblies to correct this concern.
Due to a faulty weld, the rear seat back striker may partially separate in a crash. As a result, the rear seat back may not stay properly secured, increasing the risk of injury to rear seat occupants. Dealers will replace affected seat back strikers to correct this concern.
The tire information label may not contain the rim (wheel) size information. This could lead to an incorrect tire/wheel combination being installed on the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. Nissan will supply owners with a new label and installation instructions. Owners who wish to do so may bring their vehicle to a Nissan dealer who will install the label for them.
The vehicle seating capacity may be incorrect on the tire information label on certain vehicles equipped with the sports appearance package. This could lead to vehicle overloading, increasing the risk of a crash. Nissan will supply owners with a new label and installation instructions. The owner has the option of taking their vehicle to a Nissan dealer to have the label installed.
Due to software programing, while driving at slow speeds or when idling; or with 1/4 tank of fuel or less and the vehicle heading down hill, the engine may stall due to insufficient fuel supply. Vehicle stalling could increase the risk of a crash. Dealers will reprogram the fuel pump control module to correct this concern.
