Inside Windshield Pillar Trim Pieces May Impede Side Curtain Air Bag Deployment
Body, Interior & Misc., August 16, 2010
RepairPal Expert Overview
Our Quick Take:
There are interior trim pieces that are to the left and right of the windshield. This trim may have been manufactured with a fastener that keeps the side curtain air bag from deploying properly in a collision.
What Should You Do?
We at RepairPal have designated this a high priority recall; trim pieces that affect proper side curtain air bag deployment need to be repaired to restore the highest level of safety. Please contact your Nissan or Infiniti dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
The A-pillar trim finishers may impede proper side curtain air bag deployment. This could cause occupant injury during a collision. Dealers will replace the A-pillar finishers. This recall began on August 16, 2010.
