I have a 2003 Nissan Altima 2.5 S model, and been the only owner of this car; and it has had minor and major issues, but overall it is a great car.
My concerns/issues now are numbered below:
1) Sometimes when I start up the car or accelerate on the highway, I can feel the wheels or car vibrate as if it's going to stall, but it doesn't, instead it vibrates heavily and I noticed that the 'engine check' light also blink. NOTE: the engine light is usually on steadly and three years aog when i had that checked at the dealership, the technician said they couldn't anything wrong, perhaps just a faulty sensor. What would be the cause for this type of issue?
2) The wheel alignment is off and so, I took it into an auto shop for wheel alignment and the tech said when checking the wheel alignment, they found a few issues which were RF ball joint is very worn out and will need to replace the control arm and J, and then do the wheel alignment. They suggested that these get replaced for safety issue. I didn't go with the replacement options because i need more research and advice if these two parts are needed prior to wheel alignment and what are the typical cost in the Twin Cities, MN for the replacements.
It is a older car and I plan to get a new car in a couple years and not sure if I want to spend $700 plus taxes for that repair.
Any advice you could provide me would be greatly appreciated!!
