Question: Need to replace shifter cable. Want to know fair price to do work.

Actual problem is a small bushing that seems unavailable from either Mazda parts or Ford parts. Was told only entire shifter cable available. Would like to know what would be a fair price for this job. Thanks.

Car has about 40,000 miles on it. New battery, new drive train.

    its a 6 hr job so the total job should cost approx 700.00

    Thank you, Greg. The cost I got was $1100.00 and I suspected it was high. At a friend's suggestion, they're going to try to use only the bushing from the cable kit that they order, thereby reducing labor time, so it should reduce the price some. Time for a new garage, though, I think. Thanks again.
