Typically an engine replacement would run about $5000-$6000 for a factory unit.It will vary depending on how many other things are replaced such as the radiator, coolant hoses etc. it could run $1000-$1500 less if the engine is an after market rebuild, but I would prefer that you go with a factory unit for peace of mind.

What are you talking about dandd? The car isn't even worth $5,000. And you are advising him to spend 5 grand on a 1999 car? Come on mate.
