need a catalyst converter on 2002 Nissan Altima

fumes are coming inside can i plug the hole for now until i get money to replace the catalyst converter

YES GO SEEK HELP AT A MUFFLER SHOP AND HAVE THEM WELD IT UP

take a rod or something and "gut out" the converter.should run fine then. disconnect converter from pipe..gut out with rod, shake all junk out.replace.
