I was making a turn in the middle of the intersection and while i was making the turn the van just cut off and i had to push it out for the road and let it sit for about 10 mins before it would start again. before it started all it did was turn over and turn over but did not connect like maybe there was no spark but after that it fired up just fine but have not drove it since.

I'd start with checking to make sure crankshaft position sensor not loose at mounting. If ok- consider replacing part unless you prefer to spend money and get diagnostic.

That was my first thought but i also forgot to mention that a few days prior at driving between 40 and 60mph i would start to get what i think is a spark knock and it would continue till i get above 60 mph then it would subside.would the ignition coil have any play in all of this?

No i really don't think the coil the problem. Just sounds like misfire. Does it have a check engine light on?
