Question: my transmission wont change gears

My car wont change from the fist gear, ive had the transmission flushed, and have replaced everything under the hood. can you please tell me why the trasmission is doing this.

    I had the same issue a few months ago with my 2002.Not a thing that can be remedied with the trans in the car,and with the labor factor so high with removing it,I simply paid the big bucks,as in 3500,to have my local Ford dealer install a remanufactured unit.Just repairing the problem would have been over 2k,so that didn't make sense on a high mileage car.I like the car,it is well maintained,suits my purpose perfectly,so I put the money into it.Time will tell if it was a good investment.
    My understanding is that there is a piston inside that is prone to breaking,causing this problem.
