2000 BMW 740iL

Question: MY Radio and GPS system will work for 3 min. then go off.

My raido will work for 3 minutes then shut off. I can turn off the knob then turn on again and it will work for another 3 min and go off. The GPS screen will not even come on unless its cold outside (45 deg)

    Sounds like a circuit board in your Radio and GPS is defective. When an electronic device is heat/cold sensitive, it is often due to a micro-crack in a circuit on a printed circuit board.

    OK, now what do I do. Really don't want to take it in. Is this something I can do myself. I'm very handy.
