1998 Jeep Cherokee Question: My jeep will not start.

(1998 manual Jeep Cherokee) I was at a light and my jeep stop running. I tried to jump start it and it still would not start. Where should I start? Any help would be great. -

It is difficult to answer your question without more specific information. Is the battery dead? If the battery is internally shorted, you will not be able to jump start the vehicle without removing the battery from the vehicle. Have your battery tested at your local auto parts store. Most will perform this test for free. The presence of 12 volts at the battery terminals does not indicate a good battery. A load must be applied to test the batteries Cold Cranking Amp capacity (CCA). If the amp meter drops below minimum or to near zero, replace the battery. -
