1998 Lincoln Continental

Question: My grandson's 1998 Lincoln Continental ignition key won't turn.

He has tried moving the steering wheel (it is locked), but still can't get the key to turn. He has been through the entire owner's manual with no luck. I had this problem with a 2004 Saturn Vue and pulling on the steering wheel worked, but not so on this Lincoln.

Unfortunately he only has one key (too expensive to get a second one with the computer chip in it.) I'm thinking you are probably right about the tumblers failing. Is that something a locksmith can replace?
