The shifter mechanism may need to be lubed.

Should be able to remove the console trim to gain access to the shifter. Try www.alldatadiy.com on that one I believe the shifter comes out the top.

Thank you very much. Will try it tomorrow. Wish me luck because I've never tried doing anything like this before.I'm 68 yrs. old and living on a fixed income and can't afford the high prices mechanics around here charge. Rose

Potwin Ks should be an exciting place. You need to fix that. I almost didn't answer you. Use white lithium grease. Look at all the potwns that have no answers.

I don't know how that town got up there but I live in Jayess, MS. way down south. I live in the country so far back that my dogs get excited if they hear a car coming. They think someone is coming to visit. My road is only about 1/4 mile long.

Some people don't want to list their city, guess they think they don't want to give the information. Need to go back to the setup and edit it to your nearest city, it does help when some questions can be caused by the weather conditions of your area. I have replaced many of those shifters years ago, but at my age the memory goes 1st,3rd,5th,9th - who knows.
