1996 Ford Taurus Question: My Freeze Plug keeps blowing, could it be the thermostat?

I replaced my freeze plug, and it blew again. I keep fixing the freeze plug, but wonder if it isnt the thermostat. My car doesnt overheat.

Your radiator cap has a pressure relief valve built into it and it should relieve the cooling system pressure at 16 lbs. Maybe the wrong radiator cap is on your car, Never open the radiator cap when the engine is hot. Try a new cap and reinstall the freeze plug.
