my engine overheated and now i have water shooting out the back of the motor on 1998 Mercury Mountaineer

consistently water is shooting out of the back side of motor near firewall about midway of the motor. are there any water valves or heat gauge in that area?could it possibly be a head gasket?

its not from back of motor its the sray from your cracked or broken wide thermostat housing. ive got same car and the water is blowing towards back between upper n lower intake manifolds . fix it fast or your gone smoke a head gasket like mine did and then its gonna get very $$$$$$$$
