    The transmission needs to be tested first, the700 code is the request to the ECM to show a generic code to address a transmission issue. Have the transmission module read for diagnostic codes with a scan tool not a code reader.

    One that can read separate modules, not just a code reader, like the one you plug in and the codes just show up. You need to be able to access the transmission to be able to read the fault codes.

    Wow; Read my first post, the P0700 is NOT A DIAGNOSTIC CODE, it is addressing the transmission has a fault, THEN YOU HAVE TO SCAN THE TRANSMISSION MODULE TO GET THE CODE, YOUR CODE READER APPERANTLY WILL NOT READ THE TRANSMISSION, is that plane and simple enough to understand. NOW FORGET THE P0700 CODE and get the transmission codes.
